Seek Shelter
You’re flying down an off-camber, loose, rock strewn trail and all that you can hear are the competing sounds of teeth chattering and chainslap. Sticks are being tossed skyward as your rear wheel marks your chosen line, dirt escaping in your wake, plants being splattered with debris and dislocated stones. You tear on like a banshee and push the level of your side knobs and suspension, hoping your oversized rotors can pull you out of the inevitable bind. By now, you’ve dropped your shit-talking friend who failed to locate his trail-chi as quickly as you have. Then suddenly, CAH-RACK, SLAM, CRUSH……a rock the size of a two-year old’s head is unearthed and sent directly into your carbon downtube………….buzzkill.
I’ve had this happen way too many times and until now, have had to rely on minimalist chainstay protectors and adhesive products stuck to my frame. Some recent journeys along the information superhighway have brought me to the burliest product for safeguarding your investment ~ SHELTER TAPE. It’s well worth checking out the video on their site by clicking on the link. I’m convinced already and got some on order. Once installed, I’ll let you know how it goes after a few rides.
